Your Stream Valley veterinarians are proud members of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, an organization of veterinarians dedicated to providing excellence in the care and treatment of cats. We are pleased to introduce to you our "Feline Fridays" appointment scheduling: on Friday, May 3rd and Friday, May 24th, we've reserved appointments between 10:00am and 12:00pm for cats only. We'd like to extend an invitation to you and your feline friend to set up a visit during these quieter times in our lobby and exam rooms. If bringing your kitty to the vet becomes stressful because of the hounds around, that will not be the case here during these times.
Additionally, we would be happy to extend this scheduling to June and beyond should we gain enough interest. Therefore, if an appointment in May does not fit your needs, please feel free to ask us about scheduling into the upcoming months!
Sadly, this month we bid a fond farewell to Linda, one of our esteemed Receptionists, as she prepares for retirement. Her last day at Stream Valley will be well before Memorial Day, but on that day we will salute her long service to us and to her country (she is a proud retiree from the Navy Nurse Corps). We count many military families among our clients, and we thank each and every one of you!
Into this spring and summer, we encourage you to leave a comment for Linda on our Facebook page, and you can also stop by the office to sign a memento book for her.
And here, Linda's message to share with you:
"I just wanted to take this opportunity to let all of you know that I will be leaving Stream Valley Veterinary Hospital on 1 May 2013 to prepare for my final move to Jupiter, Florida. I was originally going to do this when I retired from the Navy several years ago, but the real estate market, coupled with my desire to pursue other employment and growth opportunities, delayed my plans. Now, the timing is right, and after a few weeks off, I will begin to ready my home for the market. Before leaving though, I wanted to thank all of you, our loyal clients, vendors, and staff; how very grateful I am to have been able to serve you and your pets. You have challenged me, supported me, encouraged me, and enriched my life, and I will never forget you. Although I will no longer be employed at the hospital, I know many of our paths will cross beforemy final departure as I will continue to bring my dog, Fenway, here for the excellent care the staff provide. All of you have enriched my life in so many ways, and I hope that I have one last opportunity to thank you for all of the gifts that you brought into my life. From a very grateful heart and a diehard Red Sox fan, thanks for the memories.
And, finally, permit us to howl, bark, meow, and generally announce:
Please help us welcome our new groomer, Sarah Chaffin. After grooming for several years, Sarah has developed an interest in pet nutrition, coat and skin care, and dental health, making her a fitting complement to our Stream Valley Veterinary Hospital team.
Congratulations to Lead Technician, Shannon Robinson, who has recently passed her Boards and is now officially a Licensed Veterinary Technician! Shannon, you should be proud of your hard work!
As mentioned above, congratulations are also in order to Abby Peach and her Australian Shepherd, Riley. With 192 out of 200 possible points, Abby and Riley placed 6th in the recent AKC National Rally Competition. They also won one of the classes with a perfect score and the fastest time!
