Our Kennel Staff
Suzanne Armstrong, Kennel Supervisor: Suzanne has been around animals her whole life, and in fact, she says she can't remember a time when she didn't have at least one dog or cat! At one point, her household included four dogs and a cat, and she also spent quite a bit of time on a farm with Thoroughbred horses. So, her passion for working with pets is only natural, and her position at Stream Valley has inspired her to work toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Assistant. In particular, Suzanne is interested in oncology and large animal (equine) medicine. Currently, her pet family consists of a black Lab named Digger, a dachshund named Lady, and a dachshund mix named Lilly (who is a Doggie Daycare regular!).
Suzanne is also a member of our Technician/Assistant staff, so you may meet her during your pet's appointment!
Angie Costanza, Kennel Supervisor (Dog Training): A part of our team since April 2008, Angie started working with pets in 1982. She has worked in pet retail, in an animal hospital, with a breeder, as a "Certified Advanced Pet Care Technician," and as a Dog Trainer. Angie can also offer some basic obedience training during Doggie Daycare sessions. Click here and scroll to the bottom of the page to read about what Angie can help you and your pets learn!
Kathryn Adams, Full-Time Kennel Attendant: Kathryn, or Katie as we know her, studied with Penn Foster and became a Certified Veterinary Assistant in 2011. She has three cats of her own, and she considers them her "furry children"! This is a consideration that she certainly shares with many of our Boarding and Daycare clients, so Katie's basic goal each day is "just making sure pets are healthy and happy."
Additionally, Katie is currently heading up our efforts to become an American Association of Feline Practitioners Cat Friendly Practice!
Christian Stafford, Full-Time Kennel Attendant: Christian grew up with cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and goldfish; he also enjoys hiking and being outdoors in general. This love of pets, combined with a love of the outdoors, makes Christian a natural fit for our kennel and daycare team! Before coming to Stream Valley, Christian volunteered at an educational farm, and he still values educational experience here: you'll often see him assisting in appointments as he continues to learn more about the veterinary field. Christian's poodle-boxer mix Diego is our own "doggie blogger"; be sure to check out Diego's Diary!
Christian is a part of our Technician/Assistant staff as well, so look for him during your pet's next appointment!
Kennel Attendants: Our Kennel Attendant staff is generally comprised of area high school and college students. As they are likely among your friends and neighbors, our staff treats your pets just as they would their own, with care and skill that is backed by our Kennel Management and Veterinary teams.
