Your new puppy will need a series of visits in his first year to get him started on the path to lifetime preventative healthcare.
Generally, we try to schedule services as follows:
First Visit 6-8 weeks
DHPPV-CV (distemper) vaccine
Fecal (intestinal parasite) exam
Deworming
Discussion of crate training, feeding, and handling mouth and feet
Second Visit 8-12 weeks
DHPPV-CV (distemper) booster
Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine
Heartworm and flea/tick preventative
Deworming
Discussion of at-home dental care
Discussion of puppy classes and daycare
Third Visit 12-14 weeks
DHPPV-CV (distemper) booster
CIV (canine flu) vaccine
Lyme vaccine
Leptospirosis vaccine
Fecal (intestinal parasite) exam
Second dose of heartworm and flea/tick preventative
Fourth Visit 14-16 weeks
Annual DHPPV-CV (distemper) vaccine
Annual CIV (canine flu) vaccine
Annual Lyme vaccine
Annual Leptospirosis vaccine
Rabies vaccine (one-year duration)
Six-month supply of heartworm and flea/tick preventative
Six months
Spay/neuter surgery (w/ microchipping)
Discussion of nutrition/obesity after spay/neuter
