Dr. Amantha Johnson
Dr. Amantha Johnson, a local of Sterling Park, was one of Stream Valley's first Licensed Veterinary Technicians in the opening years of 2001-2004. She then moved to Blacksburg and continued to work as an LVT in the "Hokie Hills" in pursuit of her lifelong dream to add DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) behind her name. She was later accepted into Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 in the Caribbean Islands. Her last and clinical year was finished at the VA-MD College of Veterinary Medicine, back in Blacksburg. When asked why she has chosen to return to Stream Valley, her reply is two-fold. "I know some of the clients (can't wait to meet more!), and Dr. Corey is a good teacher," she said.
Dr. Johnson has many pets of her own! She has a miniature pinscher, which she bottle fed from birth, and a senior chihuahua that she adopted as a rescue. She also has three birds and a snake! In her spare time, she enjoys painting and playing tennis. Her special interests in the veterinary field include exotics, surgery, and ophthalmology.
Dr. Corey is proud to have Dr. Johnson back on Stream Valley's staff! Dr. Johnson has been in the veterinary field for 20 years and has an undeniable love and devotion to the human-animal bond. Welcome back, Dr. Johnson!
