Kate, Kennel Attendant

Kate started her Stream Valley journey in August 2020 as a kennel attendant, until she was cross-trained to work both in kennel and as a veterinary assistant. She is a graduate of James Madison University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Pre-Veterinary Medicine.

Kate grew up in Ashburn, where she currently resides, as an only child with two loving parents. Her dog, Lucky, is a 15-year-old schnoodle! Outside of work, Kate enjoys going on long walks and spending time with close friends. She also likes trying new places to eat, wherever that may be. In the future, she hopes to be able to travel a lot someday.

Wendy, Senior Kennel Attendant

Wendy joined the SVVH kennel team in April of 2021. Wendy has lived in Northern Virginia all her life, and she brings along 16 years of management experience, and 13 years of experience in dog grooming. In the veterinary field, she hopes to learn as much as she can about all aspects of work at Stream Valley Veterinary Hospital. Wendy hopes to be the best that she can be during her time at SVVH.

In Wendy's family, she has an elderly mother, two older brothers, and one younger sister. Wendy is very much an animal lover, as well as a sports fanatic for the Washington teams. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to classic rock music, working on jigsaw puzzles, and learning about the ghost/paranormal world. Juggling is her hidden talent!

Roya, Kennel Attendant

Roya became a member of the SVVH kennel team in November of 2020. She's grown up in Ashburn where she's lived most of her life, and is currently a junior at Rock Ridge High School. Working at Stream Valley is her first job, and we are thrilled to be the first stepping stone in her career! She hopes to learn a great deal about animals along with gaining experience, then ultimately going to vet school to someday open her own veterinary practice.

Roya has a total of 4 pets at home, which include 2 grey tabby cats named Luna and Leah, a toy poodle named Baron, and a hamster named Snowball. She lives with her two brothers (who keep her busy!) as well as her mom and dad. In her free time, she rides horses and rides on an equestrian team. Roya also volunteers through various clubs at school such as Leo Club, National Honor Society, Pre-Professional Health Honor Society, Environmental Club, Rock Ridge Phoenix Obsidian Club, and the American Sign Language Honor Society.

Our Kennel Attendant staff is generally comprised of area high school and college students. As they are likely among your friends and neighbors, our staff treats your pets just as they would their own, with care and skill that is backed by our Kennel Management and Veterinary teams.
